TRAVIS MCCONNELL: 2020 Young Adult Professional of the Year

Our 2020 Young Adult Professional of the Year is Travis McConnell!

This year’s recipient always goes the extra mile, both professionally and for our community. Travis takes the job of fighting for his clients very seriously. He is an attorney in Warsaw, serving both the private sector and as a Public Defender. He speaks fluent Spanish and is available to help many members of our community who may not have someone in their corner. He fights for those who cannot fight for themselves. In addition to his practice in Warsaw, he also maintains an office in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he works with people of low income, fighting for the rights of poverty-stricken farm workers.

In addition to serving the community as an attorney, our Travis also impacts Kosciusko County in many other ways. He was the main driving force behind One Warsaw’s Celebrating Us event. This event brought the community together for a festival complete with food, dancing, many booths promoting local organizations and fun children’s activities. Travis also helped plan and host a Juneteenth celebration in Warsaw, featuring local guest speakers and celebrating emancipation.

In 2019, along with his business partner, our Young Adult Professional of the Year purchased a building in downtown Warsaw. Currently, it is leased as office space for multiple local businesses. They also have plans to transform the top floor of the building into an event venue for our community.

Travis an active member of the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, as well as several other local, state and national affiliations.
