The sports complex will be completed this Spring, just in time for summer! The new sports complex will allow members and guests to use two turf fields for a wide variety of games, sports leagues, group exercise classes, and other athletic events.
The sports complex creates an opportunity for the YMCA to provide a positive experience for the entire community, and the organization hopes the complex will be the perfect destination for residents of Kosciusko County to come together to enjoy all that athletics have to offer.
The Kosciusko Community YMCA is thankful for their partnership with K21 Health Foundation, who provided a grant of more than $400,000 to make this project possible, and they will be naming the field in a way that honors K21’s financial support.
“Here at the YMCA, we are incredibly grateful for the partnership with K21 and their support that has helped us achieve these projects in our community,” says Jim Swanson, the CEO of YMCA. “With their financial assistance, we have been able to bring to life important and impactful programs, such as the new downtown YMCA facility and new sports complex. Their unwavering support of our mission has truly made a big difference, allowing us to provide countless individuals with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.”
“K21’s mission is to empower everyone to live an active and healthy lifestyle, and partnering with the YMCA is a key to achieving this mission,” says Rich Haddad, CEO K21 Health Foundation. “We’ve had a long and healthy relationship with the YMCA, and we’re always pleased to see this partnership impacting the community to such a great extent.”
The upcoming sports park will allow the YMCA to offer a variety of programs, including:
· Youth and adult soccer and futsal leagues
· Youth and adult volleyball
· Group exercise classes
